anxiety at its finest.

Well it is raining today and the thunder is deafening on our classroom windows. I love this kind of weather, especially opposed to the extreme heat we have been having but realize after the rain stops, the humidity will be back, thicker than ever. I am beginning to become antsy ready to leave this campus and its western feel with all my teacher friends and head out into the real world where I can eat something other than cafeteria food and unpack into my own place and FINALLY meet this ominous "co-teacher" we have been hearing all about.. Its only one more day but as the lectures become more and more dull, it cannot come soon enough.

As my stomach settles from the culture shock it is receiving (only thanks to a kind peer who gave me some imodium) I am a bit scared to try some traditional korean dishes. Kimchi is actually quite good if it is served cold and made well. Yes, they do serve it at EVERY meal and I have eaten it at all meals, except for breakfast, I just can't get myself to do it... Maybe that's why I have been so ill, but they say it is one of the healthiest foods in the world, great for your immune system. Hmmm, that must be why all Koreans look so young!

With my days of being babied as a foreign teacher come to an end, there is still so much to come, so much to learn, so much that will surprise me! With new friends, new ideas, new expectations I head into the unknown ready for any situation, hoping I don't freak out at the first sign of trouble! But for now, I am going to sit in the rain, under my cute Korean umbrella, and enjoy the moment and breathe a sigh of relief that it is not tomorrow yet.

  1. You have to try the "taco rice" at some point. My God Brother was stationed in Korea, and said it was so good! Lol Not 100% sure what it is, but he's not very adventurous sooooooo, you should be ok.

Hang in there! It'll all get easier and more comfortable with time. Loves
